Directions to The Old Gardens Animal Rescue Centre
The Old Gardens is located in a small village called Highleigh which is just south of Chichester, West Sussex. Below are directions to find us starting from the main A27 Chichester bypass.
From the main A27, you will need to leave at the Stockbridge roundabout. The roundabouts on the Chichester bypass do have names but they are not always obvious. The Stockbridge roundabout is the one signposted to Witterings (A286), Selsey (B2201). This is the exit you need to follow.
Once you are on the A286, keep heading south. You will come to a mini-roundabout after about 500 yards, go straight across, following the sign for Witterings, Birdham (A286) and continue on this road for a further 2-3 miles.
After about 2 miles, you will pass the entrance to Chichester Yacht Marina on your right-hand side. Remain on the A286 for about another half mile and, as you are just about to enter the village of Birdham (just as the speed limit reduces to 40mph), you will see a turning to the left signposted Almodington and Sidlesham. Turn left here into Sidlesham Lane. This turning is also signposted for the Wild Bird Hospital.
Drive down Sidlesham Lane for about half a mile and, just after you enter the 30mph zone, you will see a turning on your left signposted Highleigh, Sidlesham and Selsey. Turn left here into Mapsons Lane.
Continue down Mapsons Lane for about half a mile. Just after you enter into Mapsons Lane the speed limit goes back up to 40mph. However, as you approach your next turn, the speed limit reduces again to 30mph. Just past the 30mph signs the road bends quite sharply to the left and on this bend you will see a turning to the right signposted Bird Hospital and Highleigh. Turn right here into Highleigh Road.
Carry on down Highleigh Road for about half a mile, you will see the Old Gardens on your right hand side. It is quite easy to spot from the signs out on the road. Pull into our drive and you will find parking inside.
