The Animals at the centre

The centre has a wide range of animals, including:

Visitors are always welcome to come and feed the animals. We supply small bags of animal feed specific to various types of animals. These can be purchased at the centre and all proceeds go towards helping to pay for the welfare of all the animals at the centre.

Chickens

Free range laying hens in the paddockThere are a large number of laying hens at the centre. Many of them are rescued from their lives as battery hens and are converted into happy free ranging birds. These are responsible for the eggs we sell at the centre. In addition, we have a number of cockerels that we have rescued. Many of these roam freely at the centre although we keep them away from the laying hens as this would be too much of a distraction.

You can help by sponsoring the laying hens or the cockerels.

Goats

Some of the goats in the front paddockThe goats are always a popular attraction with our visitors. Most of the goats at the centre are located in the front paddock and they are always at the gate to greet visitors. While at the centre you can buy small bags of food which the goats will happily take from your hand. They are all extremely friendly, especially when there is food on offer!

You can help by sponsoring the goats, either as a group or individually.

In 2006, we also rescued Bailey, Milo and Rocky. Bailey and Rocky are currently in a pen until they get used to their new environment. They will then join Ronnie and Reggie and roam freely. Milo was recently rehomed.

Lambs

Our three not so little lambsAt the beginning of 2006, we rescued three lambs that had been orphaned. Dolly, Bobby and Polly have since been hand reared. Everyone enjoyed helping to bottle feed them.
They are now extremely tame and very people friendly and a much loved attraction at the centre.

You can help by sponsoring the lambs, either as a group or individually.
